From the Amputee’s first steps, the SLK 3.0 immediately begins to learn their unique gait and program itself. Artificial Intelligence continuously self-adjust its programming to always match Amputee progress.
Polycentric Design + Lightweight Build = Unmatched Amputee Energy Conservation:
Efficient Polycentric Toe-Clearance in swing combined with an ultralight Aerospace Carbon construction conserves substantially more energy than any other MPK. During mid swing, when the toes are closest to the ground, the polycentric design of the SLK 3.0 biomechanics brings the toes higher off the ground allowing the amputee to walk more confidently and without energy wasting gait abnormalities such as hip hiking or vaulting. After just a few days of wearing the SLK 3.0, the Amputee will be stunned to notice they don’t feel the usual end of day fatigue they were accustomed to with their old single-axis Microprocessor Knee.
Also Available in a KD Model. The Only MPK Designed Specifically for Needs of Knee Disarticulation Amputees – The SLK 3.0 KD – MPK
The Function of the Microprocessor:
200 times per second, sensors throughout the knee precisely measure minute changes in flexion/extension speed and acceleration/deceleration in any direction in space. Instantly gathering data from its many sensor types enables the Microprocessor to accurately recreate natural biomechanical gait based on the unique walking pattern of the Amputee. Contrary to other MPKs, the SLK (Self-Learning Knee) will forever continue adjusting to the progression in the Amputee’s capability.
Primary benefits:
PDAC Verified for Microprocessor Controlled Swing & Stance
No Laptop, Training or Certification Required to Program
More Toe-Clearance in Swing vs. Single-Axis MPKs
All New Next Generation Microchip Delivers 200 Calculations Per Second
A Matrix is a set of parameters based on your Patient’s weight, activity, and residual femur length.
The All New SLK 3.0™ comes pre-programmed with 5 different Matrices to accommodate patients of a different capabilities. Match your Patient to their Matrix using the chart below.
With your Patient’s Matrix selected, Self-Learning technology will do the rest of the programming for you, fine-tuning extension/flexion resistance in the swing and stance phases. Unlike any other MPK, the SLK™ 3.0 will continue to self-learn; continuously adjusting itself to your Patient as they progress.
You and your Patient may want to compare the function of different Matrices for preference. A Quick-Start Card™ arrives with the knee and provides instructions on how to input and change your Patient’s Matrix.
