PDAC Verified for Microprocessor Controlled Swing & Stance
True Biomechanical Function:
The SLK™ 3.0 KD is the only Microprocessor Knee in the world designed specifically for the biomechanical needs of Knee Disarticulation patients. Cosmetic evenness in the sitting position is impossible with any other Microprocessor Knee. The knee replicates the natural leg shortening of the human knee during swing phase. This provides the Amputee with a proper “no limp” gait. Safe Toe-Clearance is achieved without shortening the pylon, allowing level hips during standing. State of the art Pneumatics require near zero energy expenditure maintaining end-of-the-day stamina.
Self-Learning Technology:
The SLK™ 3.0 KD Knee utilizes Self-Learning Technology to self-program and continually self-adjust as the Amputee’s gait progresses. The Prosthetist simply selects the preferred “Matrix,” then allows the knee to program itself as the Amputee walks.
The Function of the Microprocessor:
The SLK™ 3.0 KD employs 2 types of sensors. One sensor measures the precise flexion/extension speed and angle. The other sensor, a 3-Dimensional gyroscopic sensor, detects the acceleration/deceleration of even the slightest movements in any direction in space. Instantly gathering data from this dual sensor system enables the Microprocessor to accurately recreate natural biomechanical gait based on the unique walking pattern of the Amputee. Contrary to other MPKs, the Self-Learning Knee (SLK) will forever continue adjusting to the progression in the Amputee’s gait.
The SLK™ 3.0 KD comes pre-programmed with 5 different Matrices to accommodate patients of a different capabilities. Match your Patient to their Matrix using the chart below.
With your Patient’s Matrix selected, Self-Learning technology will do the rest of the programming for you, fine-tuning extension/flexion resistance in the swing and stance phases. Unlike any other MPK, the SLK™ 3.0 KD will continue to self-learn; continuously adjusting itself to your Patient as they progress.
You and your Patient may want to compare the function of different Matrices for preference. A Quick-Start Card™ arrives with the knee and provides instructions on how to input and change your Patient’s Matrix.
